AMD’s Ryzen 9000 between April and June 2024?

We can’t say that AMD has signed up any bad processors with its Ryzen 7000s, and even less so with the 7000X3Ds, of which the 7800X3D is still the best choice for gaming use. However, we must look to the future: the Ryzen 9000. In fact, the future is just around the corner, as these could see the light of day between April and June 2024. At least, that’s what @highyieldYT reports on X.

Ryzen 9000 between April and June?

This date would finally make sense, as the Computex is the ideal time to announce new hardware. This year, it takes place from June 4 to 7.

nouveaux Ryzen 9000

More concretely, with this new generation, AMD will be maintaining its current AM5 socket, so no change of platform is envisaged… Unlike Intel, which will switch to LGA-1851 with Arrow Lake.

Secondly, these new processors will still benefit from a chiplet-based design similar to Zen 2/3 and 4. In fact, they will inherit the same I/O die as the Ryzen 7000, while the maximum number of cores should remain unchanged: 16 at most. What will change, however, is the manufacturing process. These newcomers will be based on TSMC’s 4 nm N4, where current CPUs are engraved in 5 nm.

Finally, despite frequencies similar to the current generation, we can expect performance to improve. In fact, we’re already expecting an IPC gain of at least 10%. As for memory, native support for DDR5 6400 MT/s.

Of course, new CPUs mean, potentially, new motherboards… Although we’re not yet aware of any new chipsets in the pipeline. It remains to be seen what AMD and its partners will come up with for the occasion.

However, if the launch takes place during this period, it could put Intel in a tricky situation… For a while, of course, but still, since Arrow Lake-S won’t arrive until later, at least during the summer.
