AMD RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX: already out of stock

0

48 hours ago, AMD launched on its website, the direct sale of its Design Reference versions of the RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX. Unfortunately, even if the quantities were there, the stock did not last long. The 7900 XTX was the first to go out of stock, and the 7900 XT followed a few hours later. Concerning the versions manufactured by the partner brands of the Reds, very few are available at the moment, even in the case of the Radeon RX 7900 XT. When we question the main wholesalers, the brands tell them that the majority of the “custom” versions are still in preparation. In the best case and for some references only, availability is not expected before next week.

This rapid evaporation of the RX 7900 XT 7900 XTX stock leads us to ask ourselves a few questions… You know, we’re a bit petty.

The rupture, a marketing strategy?

Between now and the arrival of the brands, will AMD put some parts back on sale? For the subject is well there for those who want to take advantage of the best price. So we asked AMD if all the stock programmed for the launch (20,000 cards) had been sold out worldwide. We don’t have an answer at this moment but we wonder if the drop strategy , very popular during the shortages, is not becoming a marketing trick to keep consumers on their toes.

In short, if you want to keep a cool head and wait for things to settle down before making your purchases, don’t hesitate to read our two big tests of the AMD versions and the magnificent Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil Limited Edition.
