RTX 4090: the card burns its 12VHPWR cable at both ends

As long as we’ ve been talking about it and nothing’s changed, it’s safe to say that the 12VHPWR is a piece of crap. Just recently, we saw just how problematic this connector was via Northridge Fix, and even after an overhaul (12V-2×6) the problem remains recurrent.

This time, we’re talking about an RTX 4090 that burns its connector at both ends: on the GPU and power supply sides, at the same time… Two for the price of one!

Anyway, back to the facts, and Korean forum user Quasar Zone shows us his MSI RTX 4090 Suprim with a melted connector. But worst of all, the power supply (an FSP Hydro block) has also taken a beating.

The worst part is that the user in question did the right thing. Aware of the problems that this series can encounter, he set a consumption limit of 75% for his card. Despite this effort, bad luck, the connector still melted…
