Z890 motherboards: reviews to be published on October 24th!

As we told you two days go, Intel’s Arrow Lake processors will be delayed by a week. While the reasons for the delay are still unclear, they could well be linked to stock issues. However, if the processors will be delayed, so will the Z890 motherboards, because yes, with Arrow Lake, we’ll need a new socket, as one doesn’t work without the other.

As a reminder, these new motherboards are responsible for hosting Intel’s new CPUs. To do this, they feature a new socket with new chipsets. While the dimensions of the socket have not changed since the LGA-1700, there are a few minor differences in the chipset, which includes more PCIe lines.

In terms of dates, the motherboard previews will be published on October 10, when the CPUs will be unveiled to the general public. However, October 24 will also coincide with the launch of the motherboards. Editorial teams should therefore be able to publish their tests at that time. Nevertheless, during Computex this year, we were able to catch a glimpse of a few models here and there, some of them top-of-the-range, but it’s true that the manufacturers remained relatively discreet at the Blues’ request.

As a reminder, at the launch of Arrow Lake, we expect to see the arrival of K version processors with the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 5 245K. For the more entry-level models, we’ll have to wait until CES 2025.
