While Computex doesn’t open its doors until tomorrow, some of the media present at the event, including TechpowerUp, are already starting to report back. On the agenda are Gigabyte’s new motherboards… Well, at least some of them.
Gigabyteshows off its new motherboards!
On the Intel side, we already have a trio of motherboards. The overclocking series is still present, with a hypothetical Z890 Tachyon. The board features two DDR5 memory slots mounted horizontally above the socket. Connectivity features two x16 PCIe connectors in the 5.0 standard. Of course, this board is distinguished by a whole range of overclocking paraphernalia, including buttons for various functions and voltage measurement points.
Next up is a board from the Aero G series, the media production-oriented range. The board is distinguished here by the presence of extensive connectivity and an aesthetic appearance featuring the color white/silver. The I/O panel is complete withUSB4, WiFi 7 and Ethernet in 2.5 GbE and 10 GbE via two network interfaces.
The last Intel board is a hypothetical Z890 Aorus Elite, a wiser board featuring four DDR5 memory slots, two of them reinforced. On the PCIe side, we have three connectors, the first of which is reinforced, similar to the 58 kg connector on the B650 Aorus Pro X USB4.
An X870 Aorus Xtreme also on display!
As for AMD cards, there’s no crowd, at least not yet. In fact, we’ve only heard back from one AM5 model so far. However, it’s a big reference: X870 Aorus Xtreme, according to our colleague.
As you can see, this is a reference in E-ATX format, with a powerful power supply stage cooled by finned heatsinks and heat pipes. The I/O cache also benefits from a screen, while the rest of the board is enclosed by M.2 heatsinks and chipset. Other connectivity features include four memory slots and three PCIe slots.
Also on display is a TRX50 AI Top, a server/workstation model designed to accommodate Threadripper 7000 CPUs. Of course, the connectivity has nothing to do with it, with eight DDR5 DIMMs, four PCIe 5.0 x16 and six M.2.
