While the news about SSDs is focused on the Gen 5 in PCIe 5.0, GALAX would be about to launch two HOF SSDs, i.e. from the Hall Of Fame series. A high-end series that we had the opportunity to test several times with the KFA2 RTX 3090 Ti HOF! SSD GALAX HOF Pro et Extreme So we should see two HOF SSDs arrive. The first is called “HOF PRO 30” and the second “HOF Extreme 30”. These two versions are available either in 1Tb or 2Tb. Regarding the controllers, we are on the high end with a PS5016-E16 for the PRO and a PS5018-E18 for the Extreme model.

Aesthetically, it is a real success with a more curved surface. In addition to the change in appearance, these new SSDs improve the heat dissipation performance. Compared to the previous generation, the heat dissipation area is increased and the heat dissipation performance is improved by 25%. Finally, here are the features of the 4 available versions:

  • SSD EXTREME 30 1TB – PS5018-E18 controller – capacity is 1000GB – M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 – 1024MB cache. Continuous read/write speed (CDM) is 7000/5500 MB/s with random read/write speeds of 650000/700000 IOPS (IOmeter).
  • HOF EXTREME 30 2TB SSD – PS5018-E18 controller – capacity is 2000GB – M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 – cache is 2048MB. Continuous read/write speed (CDM) is 7000/6500 MB/s, random read/write speed is 650000/700000 IOPS (IO meter).
  • SSD HOF PRO 30 1TB – controller PS5016-E16 – capacity is 1000GB – M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 – cache is 1024MB. Sequential read/write speed (CDM) is 5000/4000 MB/s, random read/write speed is 530000/820000 IOPS (IOmeter).
  • SSD HOF PRO 30 2Tb – controller PS5016-E16 – capacity is 2000GB – M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 – cache is 2048MB. Sequential read/write speed (CDM) is 5000/4200 MB/s, random read/write speed is 530000/820000 IOPS (IOmeter).
