TCL: a dome-shaped screen!
Flat screens have been around for a long time, while curved models are more recent. However, while the usual curvature was horizontal, this is the first time we’ve heard of both horizontal and vertical curvature, forming a dome. It remains to be seen what this will mean in terms of immersion, since there’s sometimes a gap between marketing and reality.
In terms of specifications, this model boasts a 31″ OLED panel and a UHD display. Finally, we know that it runs at a rather substantial 120 Hz. For the moment, this monitor is only at the announcement stage. The announcement took place at DTC 2023 in Wuhan, China. This is, to put it crudely, a trade show focused on displays.
At the same time, the company took the opportunity to unveil a 57″ 8K monitor operating at 240 Hz, all curved at 1000R. A third 8K monitor on a 27″ slab was also presented, the pixel density just has to be incredible. Finally, an 8K OLED TV was also on the program! In short, these Chinese are good!
