Yes, at the moment there is a lot of talk about NVIDIA’s RTX 4070, which is normal since the card will land in two days. However, via VideoCardz we have a first glimpse of the performance of this card. The performances are the “official” ones since they come from a team Green presentation.

Clearly, this little 4070 should perform quite well, even without DLSS3… Technology clearly at the center of NVIDIA’s communication. So, without frame generation technology, this new card should offer similar performance to an RTX 3080. Against the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3070, the respective gap would be 20% and 30%. However, the older generation cards take a beating when DLSS 3 is activated: +40% against the 3080, +70% against the 3070 Ti and +80% against the 3070.
More concretely, NVIDIA targets its card to 1440p gaming and aims at 100 fps on average… Even if this is not the case in all games. We think especially of The Witcher 3 with Ray Tracing in ultra and with DLSS 3. Without DLSS 3, the games run less well and the performance gap with the 3070 Ti is considerably reduced where it was almost x2 with it.
Finally, our colleagues indicate that this 4070 non-Ti should be 15% less powerful than its Ti counterpart. Moreover, the gap between the two could well grow as the game resolution increases. Finally, let’s remember that the card will be launched on April 13 at a price of $599! Let’s see what will happen with the press tests. Very often, there is a gap between reality and marketing.
