RX 9060 XT 8 GB: AMD has apparently changed its mind!

On 16 April, NVIDIA launched its RTX 5060 Ti with 16 and 8 GB of memory. However, only the version equipped with 16 GB of VRAM is interesting for its performance. Indeed, we have heard of some tests indicating that the 8GB model did not live up to its promises. In short, following this feedback, AMD has decided to review its copy and cancel its RX 9060 XT 8GB.

RX 9060 XT 8GB: AMD cancels the card?

RX 9060 XTBasically, 8GB of VRAM for gaming graphics cards priced at over €300 is becoming hard for brands to justify. In fact, as we’ve seen, NVIDIA wasn’t very confident about its RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, so much so that no reviews were available on the day. And even now, to get hold of one sample, you either have to negotiate hard with the partners, or you have to get a few bills out of your pocket, buy a card and then test it.

In any case, given the less than glowing feedback on this model, AMD has apparently decided not to launch its RX 9060 XT with this memory capacity. If the rumour is accurate, the card has simply been cancelled. However, this does not mean that the Reds will not be offering this type of card. It could return in the form of an RX 9060 or arrive in limited quantities. Better still, AMD could offer an RX 9050 to renew its entry-level range. With a card offered at a low price.

In any case, the Reds are off to a good start, and the RX 9070s seem to have won over the public. It would be a shame to launch a card that turns out to be disappointing now. Especially as the Reds have changed tactics and their new strategy is to win back market share from NVIDIA.
