To date, NVIDIA has launched a total of three cards out of the six that make up the RTX 50 range. First came the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, recently followed by the RTX 5070 Ti. That leaves the RTX 5070 non-Ti and the two RTX 5060 (Ti). However, as Wccftech brings us new information on these models, we take a closer look.
RTX 5060 Ti the 16 GB version launched first!
Unfortunately, for its small Blackwell cards, NVIDIA is doing the same thing as for the RTX 40, i.e. two variants for the Ti version. In fact, we’ve learned that a model equipped with 16 GB will arrive slightly earlier than the 8 GB version. We’re talking about a March launch for the 16 GB and April for the 8 GB.
Once again, we risk finding ourselves in a situation where the 16 GB model is likely to be very expensive, with a price close to that of the RTX 5070. The 8GB version, on the other hand, is likely to be in trouble due to a lack of VRAM. However, NVIDIA is said to be focusing more on the 16 GB card at launch, to avoid any criticism of the amount of memory.
Secondly, our colleagues indicate that the Ti will use a PG152 SKUs available in 10 and 15 versions, depending on the amount of memory. As for the GPU, it will be a GB206. This point remains to be verified, as other leaks seem to indicate a GB205-based Ti, to be continued.
In any case, both 5060s will use GDDR7 memory coupled with a 128-bit memory bus. However, the use of VRAM operating at 28 Gbps offers a significant improvement in bandwidth (448 GB/s): 55% over the RTX 4060 Ti and 55% over the RTX 4060.
Next, on the power supply front, we learn that these cards will be the only models in the Blackwell range to do without a 12V-2×6 connector… Finally, NVIDIA is said to be more permissive on the subject, authorizing cards powered by 8-pin PCIe .
