RTX 4070 Ventus 2X, but still no RX 7800/7700 XT from MSI

MSI announces new graphics cards. If you still had hopes for the hypothetical RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT from the manufacturer, then this news will disappoint you. The brand with the dragon is unveiling its new RTX 4070 Ventus 2X and RTX 4070 Ti Ventus 2X in white!

RTX 4070 Ventus 2X, yet another RTX 40 for MSI!

MSI RTX 4070/Ti Ventus 2XThis card is simply a white version of an existing model. Yes, we’re talking about white RTX 4070 series Ventus 2X, a model designed to meet NVIDIA’s launch price.

For the occasion, we find a version equipped with a compact heatsink featuring two fans. The board is only 242 mm long, which makes a welcome change from the recent cinderblocks… All the more so as the card is in strict double slot format! The heat sink itself has a wide copper base, with three or four heat pipes running through it, depending on whether you’re using an RTX 4070 or an RTX 4070 Ti.

Regarding frequencies, the cards display :

  • 4070 Ti: Boost to 2610 MHz – “Extreme performance” at 2625 MHz via MSI Center
  • 4070: Boost to 2475 MHz – “Extreme performance” to 2490 MHz via MSI Center

In other words, the cards operate at their original frequencies with an overclocked profile via the brand’s software.

Otherwise, power supply connectivity is based on 8-pin PCIe for the 4070, while the Ti features 12VHPWR, unfortunately. Otherwise, video outputs remain identical from one model to the next: 3x DisplayPort 1.4a and one HDMI 2.1a.

Pricing is still the big question, although we know that the non-Ti version is already being sold for $549.99 at Newegg.

Otherwise, for the moment, there’s still no news of any hypothetical RX 7800 XT or RX 7700 XT customs from the brand. It’s also worth bearing in mind that the brand has no plans to launch a custom version, at least not at launch… So maybe it’ll happen.
