New rumours about NVIDIA’s upcoming mid-range cards are surfacing. Via Wccftech we learn that these models could well be released during the month of May. As for the price, nothing is certain, but our colleagues mention $399 for the 4060 Ti version.

RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 expected in May?

RTX 4060 Ti - RTX 4060With these two cards, NVIDIA is attacking the mid-range segment with cards equipped with one of two dies. The Ti version will benefit from a cast AD106-350-A1 chip. It would thereby tout 34 SMs and 4352 cuda cores. The GPU would then be supported by a total of 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM based on a narrow 128-bit memory bus. This would allow the memory to offer a bandwidth of 288GB/s. Compared to the 3060 Ti, the L2 cache size increases by 8x to 32MB.

On the non-Ti 4060, the card would take leverage a full AD107-400-A1 die. This translates into a configuration identical to the RTX 4060 mobile, namely 3072 cuda cores. On the memory front, we would have the same 8GB of GDDR6 running at 18Gbps. Again, via a 128-bit bus, the memory bandwidth would be 288GB/s. On the other hand, the L2 cache would be less abundant: 24MB.

Now we just have to talk about the size of the PCIe bus. NVIDIA is said to be opting for PCIe 4.0 x8. But don’t worry, this won’t limit the performance of the card. As for the power supply, the use of 12VHPWR would be far from being generalized for the custom versions… Although the Founders Edition models are said to be equipped with it, according to rumours.

Finally, we expect cards that won’t “blow up” your electricity bill. The TGP’s mentioned are 160W for the Ti and 115W for the non-Ti, so we’re not worried about high power consumption. It remains to be seen whether performance will follow, especially at resolutions higher than 1080p, as the memory part seems a little light.

Now, for the price, we should expect an RTX 4060 Ti positioned around $399 according to our colleagues. As for the launch, it should take place in May.
