Maybe a new RTX 3060 Ti?

The driver released a few days ago to support the “new” RTX 3080 12GB also contained information about a new SKU that could give life to a new 3060 Ti. Unpacking the driver itself, we discover a new identifier related to the RTX 3060 Ti graphics card. This new identifier ( id 2414 ) seems to correspond to the PCI device family of the GA103 GPU. This GA103 refers to the new laptop card, the RTX 3080 Ti. Videocardz reminds us that there were already some rumors that mentioned the possibility that this GPU could have two variations. The GA103S for laptops and the GA103 for desktops.

The current RTX 3060Ti is based on a version of the GA104 ( Like the 3060, 3070 and 3070Ti ). Using another GPU could allow Nvidia to better “balance” its production to inject more volume into the market. For the moment we have no idea about the potential and the behavior of the GA103 used to “motorize” a 3060Ti but the full version of the chip has 7680 CUDA cores. An RTX 3060 Ti with this gpu would use only 60% of the silicon. So we’ll have to see when this GPu will really make its appearance and if this variation will be a solution to find some volume.
