Review: Corsair Katar Elite Wireless

Conclusion

We are now at the end of this Katar Elite Wireless test. So, what did we think of it?

A (too?) premium mouse that doesn’t take risks

In the end, the new reference from Corsair is a good reference mouse. It benefits from quite honorable performances, and classic for its price range. We are thinking in particular of its in-house optical sensor that can reach 26,000 DPI, but also its 2 GHz polling rate and its multiple connections (wired, dongle, Bluetooth). Moreover, its autonomy of nearly 110 hours is quite interesting for a wireless mouse. In addition, we are dealing with a small, compact and light mouse that should suit most users… Provided, that is, that they do not have too big hands. Corsair Katar Elite Wireless Nevertheless, I personally find this Katar Elite Wireless to be a little too sober and classic for a mouse of this price. In fact, it will be available for around $80 and the same in euros when it is released. Unfortunately, it has no little eccentricity that would make it a wireless mouse reference. For the same price range, you can find the Roccat Burst Pro Air with a beautiful RGB or the MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless with its integrated charging base. To be much more interesting on the market, it should, for me, be offered cheaper.

Corsair Katar Elite Wireless :

We liked:

  • Corsair’s simple and intuitive software
  • Its plastic very pleasant under the fingers..
  • No fingerprints on the plastic
  • Its light weight of 69 g
  • Its very good glide on all supports (but more precisely on rigid support)
  • Its versatile grip
  • Its notched wheel
  • That it is relatively silent in use

We liked less :

  • A more complete bundle with spare pads, or carrying case ..
  • Its premium price
  • Its lack of “eccentricity”

With its new Katar, Corsair offers us a mouse with good performance. We will find a weight and a size contained. But also, a 110 hours battery, a sensor that can reach 26 000 DPI or a polling rate of 2 GHz. Unfortunately, it will also lack eccentricity and will remain too classic for me, too basic to be totally interesting against the competition which is very tough on this price range. So it will be the money.

A big thank you to Corsair!
