The PowerColor brand is one of AMD’s major partners. The manufacturer belongs to the TUL Corporation, which also includes the Club3D brand , which used to produce GPUs. The same goes for VTX3D , which unfortunately closed its doors in 2016. That leaves only PowerColor, and the brand is set to announce a new series of graphics cards: the Reaper!
Reaper: a new line of cards from PowerColor!

Currently, the brand’s catalogue, which is based solely on AMD cards, includes the :
- Fighter: for entry-level cards
- Hellhound: for mid-range cards
- Red Devil: for high-end models
- Liquid Devil: for high-end cards with integrated water cooling
This is true for the RX 7000, but the company also has a Red Dragon range, which has unfortunately not been extended to the current series. This range only covers older generations of cards. However, there are good hopes that the range will return with the RX 8000.
In short, with this new line of Reaper cards, the question arises as to how this series will fit into the brand’s offering. Will it be an even more high-end line than the Red/Liquid Devil? Or, on the contrary, will we be dealing with an ultra-entry-level range at rock-bottom prices? It’s hard to say without more information.
On the other hand, doing less than the Fighter is likely to be complicated, unless you opt for an old-fashioned blower-type cooling system. However, there could be a certain consistency, as Reaper implies, and with such a cooling system, we could say that the card comes to reap our ears because of a significant ventilation noise… But that would be petty.
In any case, we can expect the RX 8800 and RX 8600 Reaper. If all goes well, they should be announced at CES.
