The American manufacturer of waterblocks has just announced the arrival of a block for the ROG RTX 4090 Strix graphics card from Asus. This new waterblock is actually compatible with the Asus RTX 4090 Strix and TUF versions. Optimus is a brand that we know well here in the editorial office since we use for our tests a Foundation waterblock with our i9-13900K as well as an AM4/AM5 version for our Ryzen 9 7950X.
This new waterblock has a similar design to the previous ones. The waterblock is mainly made of copper but several options are available such as ceramic coating as well as the addition of a backplate . Optimus puts forward a larger cooling surface than the competition and a brand new design allowing it to offer a much better delta than other waterblocks.
To handle the temperatures, a new four-piece design was created: the top plate, the central copper plate, the cold plate on the graphics chip and then the rear XL heatsink. This new style of block sandwiches the entire PCB to create a perfect pressure on the GPU.
Unfortunately, the first batch of Optimus waterblocks is already sold out, so you’ll have to wait a few weeks now to get it if you want it.
