The GMKtec EVO-X2 mini-PC is the first to arrive on the market equipped with the new AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 APU. This little PC will be officially launched on the Chinese market on April 7. The bad news is that the price really stings, as the manufacturer has announced a price of 14,999 RMB for the 128GB+2TB version, or just under €2,000 and just over US$2,000. A price that will dampen the enthusiasm of those who were hoping for a cheaper competitor to the Mac Studio in the Windows environment. But is this really a surprise? Some time ago, we talked about the future Framework Desktop, which will also be based on the Ryzen AI MAX+ 395. The European price announced in February was coherent, since the sum communicated was €2,359.

GMKtec EVO-X2 Ryzen AI MAX+ 395: a dissuasive price?
the AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 features a 16-core, 32-thread CPU clocked at 5.10 GHz and based on the AMD Zen 5 architecture. What really sets it apart is its powerful integrated graphics unit, an AMD Radeon 8060S with 2,560 stream processors, more than double the number of cores compared with the current top-of-the-range Radeon 890M iGPU.
