MSI unveils a cable-free B650M Project Zero!

A new motherboard for MSI with its B650M Project Zero, a very special motherboard. In fact, this is one of the models whose main connectors migrate to the back of the PCB. The aim is clearly to hide as many unsightly cables as possible! The principle is the same as for Colorful’s B760M Frozen or Asus’ B760M-BTF.

B650M Project Zero: connectors that play hide-and-seek!

MSI B650M Project ZeroWith this new motherboard, we’re back to a model with hidden connectors for maximum discretion. The 24-pin ATX connectors, EPS12V CPU and various case headers are all hidden on the back of the board. With the right case, it’s possible to have no visible cables at all!

MSI has decided to take on AMD (unlike Asus) with its board. The reference is equipped with a B650 chipset coupled to an AM5 socket. The board features four DDR5 memory slots for up to 128 GB of RAM running at 6400 MT/s.

The graphics section is stripped down to the essentials, with a single PCIe x16 4.0 paired with a small PCIe x1 3.0. For storage, MSI offers two M.2 in PCIe 4.0 x4 and four SATA III. Of course, the M.2 slots are covered by heatsinks, while the 10 2 1-phase power supplies benefit from 7W/mK thermal pads.

Of course, this is a motherboard that needs to be paired with a suitable case. Not all cases have the necessary openings.
