Have you ever seen an MSI Titan laptop? Not so long ago, this category was considered “transportable”. Massive products, not really there to make concessions on performance and equipment. In a few weeks’ time, during CES 2024, MSI will be presenting its new MSI Titan 18 HX, a laptop equipped with an 18″ 4K 120Hz MiniLED display, a brand-new i9-14900HX and an RTX 4090!

MSI Titan 18 HX

MSI’s Titan has always been the extreme “laptop” par excellence.

For the moment MSI has not officially communicated on this product, which is due to be launched specifically at CES on January 9, 2024. But sales leaks from some US-based retailers have revealed that the laptop is equipped with top-notch specs such as the Intel Core i9-14900HX processor with 24 cores/32 threads and a GeForce RTX 4090. Be careful with this fresh i9-14900HX. We’re not talking Meteor Lake here, but Raptor Lake Refresh.

On its website, however, the manufacturer emphasizes this monster’s main asset: its screen. The Titan 18 HX will be the world’s first notebook to feature an 18-inch 4K/120 Hz Mini LED screen, which is also the most high-end notebook screen available today. This laptop’s panel comes from AUO and uses AmLED technology. The promise is first and foremost ultra-bright backlighting and a wide color gamut. Maximum screen brightness is over 1,000 nits, 2.5 times brighter than that of a conventional LCD, and thanks to its adaptive control technology, we can expect sharper image quality with less halo effect. The Titan 18 is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified.

For the moment, we have no idea of the price or weight of the device. However, given the details mentioned here, it seems clear that the price will be high. Weight remains the real unknown, as the photos almost make us think of a slim, elegant product…
