Much was said about Maxsun at Computex, not least because of its Intel bi-GPU boards for the professional market. But those with a sharp eye will know that the brand also supplies the Chinese market with rather original anime-themed gaming boards with its iCraft series. But what Maxsun presented on its stand last week, in the form of a very attractive RTX prototype, is unique and brings a real breath of fresh air to graphics card design.
The prototype in question uses an RTX 5090 and could see the light of day on the next generation of graphics cards to be marketed by the Chinese brand. But on this subject, Maxsun is blowing hot and cold. At the end of our visit, another visitor to the stand explained that the company was not promising a rapid product launch.
Obviously, the photo above describes the concept better than words can. First of all, it’s important to specify that this card will be liquid-cooled. The GPU is fully encapsulated. At first glance, it looks like a curved LCD panel covering the entire visible surface of the board. However, the patterns on the latter didn’t really move during our observation phase… And we couldn’t really get any details from the teams on site, but the use of a foldable oled screen seems quite conceivable given these photos.
Finally, it should be noted that the card is “switched on”, which in no way means that it is actually functional. Here again, we received contradictory information during our visit. Nevertheless, visually, the Maxsun “concept” succeeded in its mission: lots of photos, lots of questions, lots of wonderings (and now lots of expectations). Don’t we have here the good old tricks of the “concepts” launched in other sectors like the automotive industry, for example?
