RX 9000: Lisa Su confirms launch for early March!

AMD RX 9000

During the announcement of the company’s financial results, the CEO spoke about the brand’s new generation of graphics cards. We have learned that the launch date is confirmed for early March. Otherwise, Lisa Su once again confirmed that this generation will focus on the consumer sector, but we already knew that. Otherwise, she also emphasised the improvement in ray tracing performance, while boasting about the arrival of AI-boosted FSR4.

As a reminder, these cards will have caused a lot of ink to flow, since they were initially expected at CES… Then nothing. Then there was a whole mess of communication, with unconvincing arguments being put forward. It was all a bit chaotic until David McAfee tweeted about the launch in March… Confirmed again here.

We’re expecting a launch of the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 non-XT at first. The cards have been widely covered recently. In fact, we’re expecting cards with Navi 48 XTX and Navi 48 XT configurations offering 4096 or 3584 steam processors, depending on the card. In terms of memory, we’re talking about 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 256-bit bus. Finally, in terms of performance, the XT is expected to rival the RTX 4080 Super in rasterisation and outperform the RTX 5070 Ti, while the non-XT will outperform the RTX 5070.

In reality, what will make the series a success will be the prices, which are as yet unknown. Finally, we’re expecting an event to be held between now and the end of February to present the cards, with sales starting in early March. Stock levels should not be as catastrophic as for the RTX 50s… It remains to be seen how long they will last.
