Intel APO soon available on 12th and 13th Gen processors?

With the arrival of the 14th generation Raptor Lake Refresh processors, we were introduced to Intel APO for Application Optimization. This function is currently only compatible with 14th-generation Core i7 and Core i9 processors, i.e. i7-14700K and i9-14900K. Intel announced at CES 2024 that the upcoming 14th-generation HX Core i9 and Core i7 mobile processors will also be compatible. But is Intel planning to make Intel APO compatible with previous-generation processors?

The principle behind Intel APO is to optimize thread and application scheduling for certain software applications, in order to improve the performance of supported applications. The number of games is currently fairly limited, since this requires Intel to study the application itself and validate its optimization on the basis of a model per processor. Of the optimized games, of which there are currently eight, APO offers frame rate increases of between 4% and 18% on upcoming HX processors.
