[GAMESCOM] NVIDIA presents DLSS version 3.5

While we’ve been bringing you tests of NVIDIA GPUs with DLSS 3 for several months now, NVIDIA has announced the imminent arrival of DLSS 3.5, which will further improve Ray Tracing in games. As a reminder, DLSS, also known as Deep Learning Super Sampling, increases the number of FPS when activated in your game’s graphics options. Without going into all the details, the principle is to run the game in a lower resolution and, in return, to calculate part of the pixels using an AI to redisplay the whole in a higher resolution.

DLSS 3.5 is here:

And that’s very good news indeed. But what does DLSS 3.5 offer? After the arrival of Frame Generation for version 3, we can now count on Ray Reconstruction (RR), a denoising technology still based on AI (artificial intelligence), which will be compatible with all RTX graphics cards. The first games to benefit from DLSS 3.5 are Alan Wake 2, announced for October 27, 2023, and CyberPunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, due for release on September 26, 2023.

In a few weeks’ time, we’ll be able to judge the performance gains of this new version of NVIDIA’s DLSS.
