COUGAR today unveils a new PC case, the FV270, which stands out for its dimensions: 268 x 530 x 512 mm. Its base is also voluminous, but this complements its overall style. It’s available in black or white, with RGB fans, or naked with nothing for the purist.

Compatibility-wise, what have we got?

Plenty, starting with a high level of motherboard compatibility. The tray supports ASUS BTF and MSI Project Zero boards in ATX and Micro-ATX. For cable management, there’s plenty of space on the back. The case promises a clean and tidy system.

Improved interior layout?

At first glance, the chassis looks classic, despite the numerous cut-outs for cards with connectors on the back. There’s also a GPU support. A cable channel in the power supply cover for the graphics card. We’ll be able to take care of the interior on this side, a rare feature to be highlighted here. We have seven PCI express brackets, on a board that can be rotated through 90°.

This makes it easy to install a card vertically. So even the most imposing models will have plenty of room! The available length is 420 mm. This is reduced to 330 mm if cooling is installed along the length of the motherboard. For the processor heatsink, the limit is 180 mm, i.e. almost non-existent.

What about storage?

With the connectors towards the rear of the card, storage is effectively redefined.

So we have :
  • A 3.5″/2.5″ and a 2.5″ on a board behind the backplate access
  • A 3.5″/2.5″ along the power supply
  • a 2.5″ vertically on the front of the backplate.

The least we can say is that this is not standard, but why not? No price or release date has yet been announced. For more information on the case: click here.
