Core Ultra 7 265K: a V-Ray 6 result of 33153 pts!

Intel’s forthcoming Core Ultra 7 265K processor has been spotted on Chaos V-Ray. As a reminder, in this context, V-Ray is used to measure a machine’s ability to render. And here, the Core Ultra 7 265K is positioned among the top-of-the-range processors.

As you can see, the processor tested here scored 33,153 points. This places it among the top-of-the-range, even professional models, since it is positioned among Xeon or Threadripper processors.

However, it should also be remembered that the software database works like Geekbench. So, for a given processor model, we can get a plethora of different results depending on the speed of the RAM, the frequency applied to the processor, and so on. There’s a lot of interpretation behind the results.

In our case, we can see that the CPU used was running at a frequency of 4.99 GHz, certainly when all the cores were being used. Furthermore, it’s hard to say whether we’re dealing with a CPU at the sample qualification stage, a final version, or something else.

As a reminder, the 265K is an Arrow Lake-S generation processor. It has a 20-core, 20-thread configuration running at up to 5.5 GHz in turbo mode, while the base frequency is 3.9 GHz. The TDP is set at 125W, with 33MB of L3 cache.

The launch is scheduled for 24 October, alongside the Z890 motherboards. As for prices, early leaks suggest a bill of €465. Stay tuned.
