We all know it now, Windows 11 has particularly strict requirements to be able to run on “old” machines. We are not talking about power (well not only) but about this damn Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0. Asus has decided to reassure its old customers.
Asus is updating its “old” motherboards.
In fact, there have been a number of false debates about this module. TMP 2.0 is actually quite old, dating back to 2011, with hardware support available around 2015, which means that many devices considered “old” or not passing Microsoft’s compatibility tool, actually have the module already available on their motherboards but simply disabled That’s why Asus has started to release a good batch of new firmware for some of its boards. The new BIOS will automatically enable TPM on AMD or Intel systems…And the compatibility to Windows 11 will thus be ensured without any more stress for Asus customers. As of August 3, the company has started rolling out compatible firmware versions for all the chipsets listed below. In addition, many new chipsets have also been added to the list of Windows 11 compatible motherboards.
