The new architecture of AMD has finally been made official yesterday with the arrival of four new Ryzen 7000 processors on September 27th. It was Dr. Lisa Su who made the announcement in a video posted very late yesterday on the internet. The Ryzen 7950X will represent the flagship of this new architecture with 16 cores and 32 threads for a Boost frequency up to 5.7 GHz, and a price of $ 699. Then comes the Ryzen 7900X with 12 cores and 24 threads with a boost frequency of 5.6 GHz and a price of $ 549. The other two processors announced are the Ryzen 7700X and its 8 cores and the Ryzen 7600X with 6 cores. Their price will be respectively $399 and $299. As we said in the introduction, these four new Ryzen 7000 will be available on September 27.
The other slides unveiled during the conference confirm an improvement of the IPC of about 13% compared to Zen3 and single-threaded performance of up to 29% more. AMD also emphasized the Boost frequency which can now reach 5.7 GHz on the 7950X which corresponds to an increase of 800 MHz compared to the Ryzen 5000 generation.
At the gaming level, the Ryzen 7950X would offer performance gains of 6 to 35% compared to the Ryzen 9 5950X in games. The Ryzen 7600X, which should once again be a very interesting model for gaming, would improve gaming performance by an average of 5% over the 12th generation Intel processor, the i9-12900K.
