The Starfield adventure is definitely not going well with Intel. As we reported here, they were somewhat slow to release a driver for the game. Now they’ve outdone themselves with a new version. You might think, “Okay, no more worries”, but not quite. As we’ve seen, the list of identified problems is still long, and Bethesda’s support doesn’t seem to give a damn about Arc GPU users. According to the studio, the A770 doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for playing the game.
The A770 doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for Starfield according to Bethesda!
Some gamers equipped with Arc GPUs are finding it difficult to play Bethesda’s game. As a result, they don’t hesitate to contact the company’s support team to obtain a minimum of assistance. We imagine that the aim is to get some clues on how to optimize graphics performance… Or a little magic code to place in the executable’s launch conditions. But nothing, the studio simply states that the Arc cards do not meet the minimum requirements for playing the game. This was the response from support to an A770 GPU owner.
As a reminder, minimum configurations call for an RX 5700 XT or GTX 1070 Ti graphics card. The Arc A770 outperforms both these cards. At the time of its launch, our readings placed it ahead of NVIDIA’s RTX 3060. This is clearly not a graphics card problem. No, the problem lies with the optimizations provided by Intel, which are not yet sufficient to play the game in good conditions.
Unfortunately, in this kind of situation, there are no 36 solutions other than waiting for better driver support. In the meantime, if you find performance too poor, perhaps mods can improve the situation. It’s nothing new: the studio’s games are finished by modders. A quick stroll through Nexus Mod will take you to the ” Starfield Performance Optimization ” and ” Starfield Potato Mode ” mods , if nothing else. These could be avenues to explore.
