Earlier this weekend we told you about AMD’s change of plan regarding the Ryzen 7000 X3D processors with the arrival of 3 references 8 12 and 16 cores. These references could be the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 9 7950X3D. AMD plans to announce its latest next month during CES 2023 in early January.
The second generation V-Cache technology will offer a significant performance leap especially for games. The first generation, even launched in a confidential way, had received a favorable echo, the 5800X3D being still these last days, a best seller on the retail market of components. AMD has visibly changed its mind by preparing several Ryzen 7000 X3D while the current generation struggles to seduce against the couple Alder Lake / Raptor Lake of Intel.
For this end of the year, the Ryzen 7000 range is the subject of a major sale promotion with significant discounts that could foreshadow a price adjustment of the range. It is in this context that a rumor about the potential prices of the 3 future Ryzen 7000 X3D has arrived in the last hours.
Ryzen 7800X3D, 7900X3D and 7950X3D: very aggressive prices?
According to the leaker @All_The_Watts, the 3D V-Cache processors will cost the same as their big brothers of the current range … The latter being repositioned down in early January. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D will be offered at 449 $the 7900X3D at 549 $ and the 7950X3D at 799 $. Under these conditions, these new Ryzen would become direct rivals of Core i7-13700K, i9-13900K. Obviously, this rumor is to be taken with all the usual reservations. Indeed, the X3D technology is particularly expensive to implement and it would be quite a surprise to find these CPUs at this price level… But after all, this is a time for wild wishes and desires…
