For its part, ASRock is working on a white version of its Taichi motherboard based on the X870E chipset. We know this because the brand has just unveiled images of an X870E Taichi White. In all honesty, based on the visuals alone, it looks better than the black version. The patterns on the I/O cover and VRM heatsink are finer and more discreet.
X870E Taichi White: a new high-end board from ASRock!
A more sophisticated look!
In broad terms, the changes are more aesthetic. The board is now white, with attractive patterns on the heatsinks. In absolute terms, there are no changes to the layout of the connectors, with slots retaining their place in relation to the original black model.
However, there are a few minor adjustments and modernizations here and there. The SATA III section loses three connectors, while on the rear Ethernet side, the 5 GbE is left aside and the card now benefits from a 10 GbE driven by a Marvell Aquantia AQC113 chip (vs. Realtek RTL8126).
Otherwise, the card still benefits from an E-ATX format on which we find four DDR5 memory batches (256 GB at 8200 MT/s). Two PCIe x16 gen5 slots are available for graphics cards, while there are four M.2 slots. One of these is PCIe Gen5 x4, while the other three are Gen4 x4. Finally, the PCB features 8 layers and a total of 24+2+1 power supply phases.
No indication of price yet!
The retail price is not yet known, but you can expect an expensive reference. Already, the original model, in black, benefits from high pricing, with a bill approaching or even exceeding €500. This is certainly the case with this X870E Taichi White.
