ASRock has set a new world record for overclocking, claiming first place worldwide on HWBot. This was achieved on the PCMark 10 Express test, with the card being handled by German overclocker Alex2305. The performance is all the more interesting because it highlights an AMD processor, a fact rare enough to be worth mentioning. Usually, it is Intel processors that shine in this kind of situation.

X870E Taichi OCF: and a world record on PCMark 10 Express, ONE!

ASRock X870E Taichi OCF

As a reminder, this Taichi OCF from ASRock is a motherboard designed specifically for overclocking. This model features an AM5 socket and an X870E chipset. It also has two DDR5 memory slots, a configuration that allows for higher RAM frequencies. Finally, when you see the numerous buttons and dip switches on the card, you know that it’s not there to look pretty in an aquarium case, no way!

In short, during his record attempt, the German overclocker used an AMD processor, in this case a Ryzen 9 9950X3D. This 16-core model ran at a frequency of 6.34 GHz across all sixteen cores, while liquid nitrogen was used for cooling to keep it at the right temperature. As for memory, 32 GB ofDDR5 was used, running at 6600 MT/s with timings of 30-38-38-64.

The final score was 14,290 points on PCMark 10 Express. This puts it in first place, ahead of Doomed83 and his Core i9 14900K with 14,280 points. Alex2305 came in second with a slightly lower score of 14,198 points.

In practical terms, this Taichi OCF with AMD is not a widely distributed motherboard, as we can see. However, for an XOC card, it offers a fairly affordable price of around €500.
