Since the launch of the RTX 50, NVIDIA has been facing a number of problems. Firstly, there’s a cruel lack of stock. Then there are still the problems with the power connectors, while the software issues were supposed to have been sorted out, but clearly that’s not quite the case. Indeed, for some users, the latest NVIDIA driver doesn’t improve the situation – it makes it worse.

Latest NVIDIA driver doesn’t fix black screen problems for everyone!

536.09 HotFix

With its GeForce 572.60 WHQL, the Chameleon announced that it was correcting various problems linked to black screens with its RTX 50s. However, if we’re to believe user @mpr_reviews on X, the problems are far from over, and they’ve been made worse. Instead of black screens, he’s complaining about crashes on games compatible with Multi-Frame Generation in particular. If we are to believe him, Hotfix 572.65 is causing the same problems.

In short, if you’re also experiencing similar problems, unfortunately there aren’t many solutions. The best thing to do is to try an older version of the NVIDIA driver and see if the problems persist. At the moment, users are trying to find out what is causing the problem. On the conversation thread started by @mpr_reviews, there is one who suspects a DSC-related problem. In his clip, when the DSC is activated, the screen goes blank. In short, this could also be something to think about.

Finally, according to a number of users, switching back to an older driver will not correct the problems, but strangely enough, they are less prevalent. In any case, if you’re affected by this, as well as switching to an older driver, don’t hesitate to report the problem on the NVIDIA forum. It just goes to show that RTX 50s can be a real handful.
