Rocket 5: three new SSDs from Sabrent!

Sabrent Rocket 5Of course, here we find SSDs in M.2 2280 format. They also boast capacities of 1TB, 2TB and 4TB. As for the cooling system, this series seems to be offered with and without a cooling system. We can see a heatsink with a fan and two heat pipes.

What really interests us are the features of this model. It features a Phison PS5026-E25 controller coupled with 232-layer 3D TLC Micro B58R memory. Finally, an LPDDR4 memory cache will support the SSD to guarantee high data rates.

In terms of performance, the brand is announcing maximum sequential speeds of 14 GB/s for reading and 12 GB/s for writing. Maximum random performance is 1.55 million IOPS in read mode, compared with 1.8 million IOPS in write mode. No figures are given for endurance.

All that’s left is to talk about prices: $190 for 1TB, $340 for 2TB and $730 for 4TB! Availability remains to be seen, but it’s a safe bet that Amazon will be offering these SSDs, given that the Rocket 4 series is available there.
