The Ryzen 7 9800X3D product sheet has leaked from a comparison site. While many elements are already known, this leak provides us with a few confirmations, as well as 2-3 interesting new pieces of information. For the record, the 9800X3D will be launched on November 7.
First news: the 9800X3D will be alone…for now.
Even before going into technical details, the source of the leak – a price comparison site that “picks” its information from the databases of major European distributors – confirms that only one X3D version will be launched on November 7… No precise information has yet been confirmed for the other references.
9800X3D main specifications
First and foremost, the operating frequencies of the next AMD CPU have been confirmed. The base speed will be set at 4.7Ghz, with a boost to 5.2Ghz. Another confirmation, once again if this leak is true, is overclocking support. Note the line “Free Multiplier: YES”.
Other confirmations:
The 120W TDP is also confirmed by this data sheet. All that remains now is to remove any doubt as to the real overclocking capabilities of this processor. As we saw earlier, the change in 3D V-cache layout is said to be aimed at better controlling heat dissipation and thus enabling higher frequencies.
Last but not least, the processor is said to be compatible with all previous AM5 versions and chipsets. This means that the A620 can accommodate 9000X3Ds without any real hassle, a strong point and still a strong argument for AMD at a time when many doubts persist as to the durability of Intel’s just-released platform.
To coincide with the official release of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, we’ll be bringing you a full gaming-oriented test with most of its competitors, to give you a clearer idea of the possible choices for the end of 2024.
