The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is AMD’s next high-end processor. In fact, as we said here, it will be the most expensive consumer processor offered by the Reds. With an official price of $899 H.T., it surpasses 2013’s FX-9590. As a reminder, this old CPU was sold for $799. Anyway, the news here is that pre-orders are open in China, with a small discount for early buyers.

The processor is currently available for pre-order on the Chinese website JD.com. This means that buyers can already invest 100 yuan in the CPU, which will be converted into a 300 yuan discount on final payment. In any case, this does not change the final price of the CPU, which will be equivalent to $899.

Out of China, the processor also appears in the USA, on the B&H Photo site at the price recommended by AMD, although it was listed for a few days at $949. On the US shop, there doesn’t seem to be any pre-order.

A processor aimed at professionals!

Bench Ryzen 9 9950X3D2

Unlike the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which is marketed as a spearhead in the gaming sector, this 9950X3D2 is primarily intended for professional use. At no point in AMD’s presentation, nor in the benchmarks shared by the brand, are there any gaming tests. True, it will be able to run video games, but that’s not its primary use. What’s more, the benchmarks shared by the reds show gains of between 6% and 13% compared to the Ryzen 9 9950X3D in the majority of cases. Only OPENFOAM and SPEC Poisson show significant gains: +26% and +63% respectively.
