Yesterday, we told you about AMD’s Ryzen 5 8600G APU, a future model with a substantial graphics section… At least, more than on current Ryzen 7000 CPUs. Today, we’re talking about the Ryzen 7 8700G, which has also been featured on GeekBench!

Ryzen 7 8700G specs leaked on GeekBench!

Ryzen 7 8700GOnce again, it’s GeekBench’s turn to reveal everything via its database. Once the tests have been carried out, everything appears in plain text in the software’s online database.

In short, without any surprises, this APU features a total of 8 cores and 16 threads. In terms of frequency, it operates at 4.2 GHz with a boost to 5.10 GHz. As for cache memory, there’s 1 MB of L2 and 16 MB of L3 in total. GeekBench mentions a Phoenix chip with this model, although TechpowerUp indicates that there are uncertainties in this respect.

The graphics section this time features a RADEON 780M. TheAPU therefore boasts the maximum possible configuration, with 12 active compute units featuring 768 stream processors, all in RDNA3. Their frequency is 2900 MHz.

This model was paired with an ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-Plus WiFi motherboard and 32 GB DDR5 running at 4800 MT/s. As for the scores obtained, it appears that 29,244 pts were achieved on OpenCL, compared with 35,427 pts on Vulkan. According to VideoCardz, these scores are very similar to those obtained by a similar APU on a laptop PC.

It remains to be seen what this will mean in real-life testing… Which shouldn’t be too much longer.
