Another leak concerning AMD’s future APUs, as a Ryzen 5 8600G is now available for testing on GeekBench. All the features of this model have been revealed. We know, in particular, that it will be equipped with a RADEON 760M iGPU, while the CPU part is in the 5 GHz range!
Ryzen 5 8600G: AMD’s future APU spotted on GeekBench!
Head over to GeekBench to see the specifications of AMD’s forthcoming mid-range APU. As you can see, this 8600G features a total of 6 cores and 12 threads. As for caches, the L2 is 1 MB per core, while the shared L3 is 16 MB. Finally, we’re treated to base frequencies of 4.35 GHz, with a boost to 5.00 GHz. In terms of characteristics, we find a datasheet more or less equivalent to a Ryzen 5 7640H, except for a slightly higher base frequency.
As for the graphics section, it would appear that this is in line with the latest leaks. The APU would feature a RADEON 760M with a total of 8 compute units, or 512 stream processors. As for frequency, GeekBench reports 2.8 GHz. Once again, a frequency boost over the 7640H.
Finally, we expect a TDP of 65W with a PTT of 90W. As for the base chip, GeekBench shows Phoenix, although there are reports of the 8600G running an identical Hawk Point chip, albeit with a faster NPU.
