A new rumor from AMD. Apparently, the company is planning to roll out new graphics cards. However, we’re not talking about high-end models, or next-generation cards. No, we’re talking about the small RX 7500 and RX 7400, entry-level cards!
RX 7400 and RX 7300 in Navi 33?
Apparently, AMD’s two boards are based on the Navi 33 GPU already found in the RX 7600 XT and RX 7600. As a reminder, this chip features a maximum of 32 compute units and 2048 stream processors. Otherwise, 128 TMUs and 64 ROPs are available. As for memory, the RX 7600/XT feature a 128-bit memory bus. And that’s the maximum configuration provided by this chip.
The configuration of these little cards is not yet known, but we’ve no doubt that they won’t be lightning bolts of war. VideoCardz is talking about 4 GB 128-bit memory configurations with, why not, 92-bit or even 64-bit buses. As for the GPU, it’s hard to say, but according to VideoCardz, a solution with 1024 stream processors would already be more attractive than the RX 6500 XT.
Clearly, the role of these cards is not to play in UHD with maximum detail. Their aim is to hold on to the sub-$200 price segment, which has been completely abandoned by the manufacturer. They are therefore designed to run MOBAs or competitive games, as well as multimedia applications.
