RX 6950 XT, RX 6850 XT and RX 6750 XT for spring?

In addition to our brief of earlier, here are some other tracks. The rumors continue concerning a deep refresh of the RDNA2 range from AMD. The objective is for AMD to try to catch up with Nvidia’s RTX 30 range update and possibly not leave any room for future Intel cards. We start to talk about the arrival of the RX 6950 XT, RX 6850 XT and RX 6750 XT.

towards an RX 6950 XT?

A Refresh RDNA2 to continue to exist on the GPU market?

The real refresh of this range would come down to the use of more powerful GDDR6 modules that can increase bandwidth. Other, much less categorical, information mentions the use of Navi 21 GPUs and the updating of Navi 22 GPUs. But in this last case, we don’t really know what this rumor means. Would we be in the presence of new versions of these GPUs with more cores? Because there is also the possibility for AMD to use the 6nm process of TSMC to finally find volume on the graphics card market. The use of 6nm could thus allow the current GPUs to take a rise in frequency. A solution that, coupled with the arrival of new GDDR6 chips could allow to give a boost without getting too tired for the reds.

A refresh yes, but what about the real availability?

But even if 6nm comes up a lot in the conversations, all this information is unfortunately only anecdotal in view of the disappearance of AMD from the graphics card market for many months. Beyond an evolution of the range, let’s hope that these changes will allow the reds to put back on the circuit a real range with “honest” prices and a real availability. The launch window would be between the end of the second half of the year and the beginning of the summer… A GPU market with 3 real players present and competitive…You have to go back a long, long way to find that ( S3, Matrox… )
