RTX 5090 Infinity: Gigabyte’s card stays fresh on Furmark!

Not so long ago, Gigabyte announced its RTX 5090 Infinity, a graphics card based on a Founders Edition PCB, one of the few custom models to do so. The card adopts an atypical design with a cooling system similar to that of NVIDIA’s FE. But how does this translate into temperatures? A first Furmark 2 reading has been taken and we have a first idea of the card’s thermal behavior.

RTX 5090 Infinity: a cool card!

Up to 77°C on Furmark!

With this card, Gigabyte has adopted a massive heatsink, consisting of three fans. The two largest are located at the ends of the board, while a smaller one is located in the center. This is the fastest of the three, with a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm, compared with 3,000 rpm for the larger fans. The whole unit blows on a complex network of aluminum fins and heat pipes, while a steam chamber is also present.

In tests with Furmark 2, a software program that is particularly demanding on graphics cards, the GPU stabilized at 77°C, while memory reached 72°C. As for the fans, they reached 2700 rpm with a noise level of 46 dB with the side panel closed.

A big card:

Don’t be fooled, though, as the card remains imposing in spite of everything. Indeed, this model measures 3.5 spots in a PC case, all with a consequent length of 33 cm. The card is also wide at 14.5 cm. In short, depending on the case, this can be a problem, and we’re thinking in particular of ITX cases, which are often cramped. But some compact ATX cases are also worth keeping an eye on.

The ProArt, based on the same principle:

Finally, we’d like to point out that ASUS’ RTX 5090 ProArt is based on the same principle: using a reference PCB and through-ventilation. The design is different, wiser in our opinion. But the price is high, at over €3,800 from french etailer LDLC.
