Little by little, the launch of the RTX 50s is approaching, and we’ve never been so close to it (which is factually true). However, just as CES seems to be confirmed as the announcement date, we learn that the RTX 5070 will also be part of the show!
RTX 5070: the mid-range is also on board!
Of course, the configuration of the card is still open to debate. However, our colleagues indicate that this model will work with a GB205. Although we don’t know how it will be configured, it will be able to carry up to 50 SM and 6400 cuda cores at maximum. It remains to be seen whether the Chameleon will restrain its GPU for this 5070.
In any case, the card should offer a memory configuration equivalent to the current RTX 4070. This would mean 12GB of VRAM, all with a 192-bit bus. However, memory bandwidth should be 33% higher than the current RTX 4070/S, at 672 GB/s. As for TDP, this should also be up by 14% (250W).
Otherwise, there’s more news about the RTX 5080, as NVIDIA is said to be narrowing the performance gap with the RTX 5090 by equipping its card with particularly fast GDDR7 memory. In fact, this model should benefit from memory operating at 32 Gbps compared with 28 Gbps for the RTX 5090. The card’s bandwidth should then reach 1 TB/s.
Of course, we’ll have to wait until CES to find out the real truth about these cards, as share by Jensen Huang, the man who can buy Intel if he wants to!
