For several weeks now, many sources have been talking about a launch of the next RTX 40xx (starting with the RTX 4090) in October this year. However, in recent days, a rumor of postponement of the release of the new series Nvidia has returned with insistence. A theoretical postponement generated by a too large stock of RTX 30 still in the bunkers of the green partners.
RTX 4090: Launch in October and real availability in December?
For all that, the arrival of its high-end cards (RTX 4090 / 4080 or 4070) could be done only in Q4. A delay or a late launch at the end of the year would be very penalizing for Nvidia’s figures (which closes its fiscal year at the end of January). Even if at this moment we can’t talk about confirmation, MLID, which is always well informed, maintains that a launch in October is still in the pipeline. However, according to its sources, even if the card is launched in October, the real volume is not expected before December for the RTX based on Ada Lovelace GPUs. This hypothesis is indeed regularly repeated and seems to hold water with our sources. The cards based on AD102 GPU (RTX 4090 and 4080) would be launched in October with an increase in availability until the holidays, while the other GPUs, the AD103, AD104 and AD106 should be launched in early 2023.
