Raptor Lake ahead of Ryzen 7000?

Obviously, we are still at the stage of rumors and talking about the performance of two families of processors before their release is a risky exercise. However, let’s be clear: products are already circulating and if we sort out with a bit of discernment the information that leaks here and there, it seems that a trend is emerging: Intel Raptor Lake should be ahead of AMD Ryzen 7000. First of all, let’s remember that this trend is not new. Today, new leaks reveal that the Core 13 would benefit more from DDR5. Clearly, memory overclocking is not going to be the strength of Raphael processors. Several sources speak of a much lower optimal point than Intel’s: DDR5-6000 . Once this frequency is exceeded, the results will not show significant improvements or even be bad in games.

Raptor LAke vs Ryzen 7000
Raptor Lake would do better than Ryzen 7000? Let’s wait and see…

In the blue, it seems that Intel supports DDR5-6600 with XMP or even more. The subject will be the latency at Intel as at AMD, but the few data provided do not encourage optimism for AMD at this time. However, it is difficult to draw a conclusion on the whole range when nothing is announced and samples are rare on both sides. But let’s add to that the regain of form of the Core 13 on the multithread, frequencies up ( at least 5,8ghz in boost for the 13900K ) and on paper everything seems to add up to give the advantage to Intel. The reality of the tests remains and we are eager to share with you our future work on this subject. But we will also have to count on the availability and prices, data that for the moment are still unclear.
