Big news for the world of overclocking: the Core i9 14900KF has simply broken a new world record. In fact, the highest frequency recorded on a processor is now 9043.92 MHz!

Core i9 14900KF, the CPU breaks 9 GHz!

Every time new hardware is launched, the overclocking scene rubs its hands. New hardware means new prospects. That’s what’s happening with Intel’s Core i 14000s, as the blues open up new opportunities for clockers.

This launch enabled Elmor to set a new world frequency record. Indeed, he was able to push his Core i9 14900KF to new horizons, breaking the fateful 9 GHz barrier!

To achieve this, he used an Asus Z790 Apex Encore motherboard (tested here) and a G.Skill RAM kit. The CPU was pushed to 9043.92 MHz to be precise, all with unconventional cooling. While liquid nitrogen (-196°C) is quite common in the industry, liquid helium (-269°C) is far less so. It was this liquid, which is colder than nitrogen, that was used for this record!

Despite all this, world records for frequency aren’t exactly a hot topic. Looking at the top 5 highest frequencies, we find two Core i9 13900K (1 & 2), today’s 14900KF, but also an FX-8350 and an FX-8150. The FX scores were achieved in 2014 and 2012 respectively!

In short, big GG for Elmor!
