For now, the launch dates for future generations of processors are still up for debate. Indeed, between high memory prices and, above all, the lack of official communication regarding these series, there is plenty of room for interpretation. The latest rumors seem to indicate a launch or presentation of Nova Lake and Olympic Ridge at CES 2027!
Nova Lake and Olympic Ridge presented at CES 2027?
In the case of Zen 6, this comes as no surprise, as rumors of a potential delay were circulating earlier this morning. As for Intel, we have known since September that Nova Lake would arrive in 2027, leaving 2026 for the Arrow Lake refresh. However, a year is a vague timeframe that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Nevertheless, well-known and reliable leakers are telling us a little more about when these series will be announced. Apparently, we should expect both competitors to announce their processors during the show, which will take place in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, 2027.
Of course, this is just rumor, but it’s not uncommon for this type of show to host events to announce the launch of new processors. Just this year, Intel unveiled its Panther Lake mobile processors.
With Nova Lake, we can expect a solid new generation offering an increased number of cores: up to 52 cores for the largest processor in the series. A new series of chipsets is also expected, as well as a new socket. Of course, performance should be improved, particularly in gaming, thanks to bLLC in particular.
On the AMD side, while Olympic Ridge CPUs will use the same AM5 socket, CPUs will also see an increase in the number of cores, while rumors point to an updated I/O section with a more powerful memory controller. This is a story to watch, but the duel promises to be particularly interesting after the underperformance of Arrow Lake, which served more as a transitional generation to lay the foundations for the future of the blue team.
