If you’ve been interested in computer hardware for a while, you’ve probably missed out on a manufacturer that a lot of people liked: EVGA. And among the members of the brand’s team was KingPin, a passionate overclocker who helped create the eponymous cards. Clearly, with this series, we were dealing with top-of-the-range models geared towards the OC. In fact, we’ve lost count of the number of records these cards have broken.
Unfortunately, a page has been turned and EVGA has stopped its GPU business. Clearly, working with NVIDIA was becoming too restrictive and the brand ended up slamming the door. The future of KPE cards has therefore become uncertain, although Vince has done his utmost to offer his services elsewhere in order to continue to delight the community.
No KPE RTX 50, but he’s not giving up!
In a recently published video, the famous overclocker talks a little more about his career. He says that he was approached by ASUS but that it didn’t work out. He also tried something with MSI, but this time it was the brand with the dragon that wasn’t receptive. What’s more, the brand unveiled its Special Edition Air and Liquid series in the meantime.
In the end, things seemed to be going well with PNY, and the company was receptive. However, for contractual reasons and bad timing (family reasons), he had to return to America and leave a wish list. He had been in Taiwan for 15 years.
In short, there will be no RTX 50 in his name, but working on graphics cards is his speciality. And if there’s no KingPin card this time, he says there will be others… But maybe not GeForce, maybe Intel or AMD, who knows.
