Modern Warfare III: at last, a AAA with a decent config!

0

For some time now, AAA games have required increasingly demanding configurations to run. We’ve seen this recently with Alan Wake II, although Cities: Skyline II isn’t faring much better… or worse. In short, with the forthcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, we have proof that a AAA game can run on a small system. OK, so it’s still a CoD, and not a license known for its killer graphics, but it’s playable by most people!

Modern Warfare III: small config required!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIIWith this new opus in the Call of Duty series, Activision recommends small configurations to play the game. So we have :

  • Minimum :
    • CPU: Intel Core i5 6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
    • RAM: 12 GB
    • GPU: GeForce GTX 970 or GeForce GTX 1650 or RADEON RX 480
  • Recommended :
    • CPU: Intel Core i5 6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
    • RAM: 16 GB
    • GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 or GeForce RTX 3050 or RADEON RX Vega

As you can see, we’re a long way from the configurations required to run Alan Wake II , for example. Here, users with smaller configurations should be able to play in good conditions. What’s more, it’s quite astonishing to see that CPU requirements don’t change between the minimum and recommended configurations.

Of course, don’t expect the game to shine in terms of graphics quality – far from it. The engine used is clearly dated and the textures aren’t the finest, but at least it has the merit of running without changing PCs.
