New episode after Chinese customs where the authorities arrested a man trying to enter the country with no less than 420 SSDs! The man simply taped them around his waist.
420 SSDs seized from a man!

Clearly, this isn’t the first time Chinese customs have had to deal with this kind of smuggler. We remember the graphics cards hidden among the lobsters or the SSDs hidden in an electric scooter. This time, the solution was much more basic: the smuggler simply taped the goods around his waist. It’s a veiny attempt, which must have been spotted at the first palpation or passage through the gantry.
Meanwhile, we learn that the value of the merchandise is estimated at $258000HK or $32984.94 USD. This gives an average value of $78.53 per storage unit.
As we said in the lobster article, this type of passage can quickly become profitable for the smugglers or those who hire them. In Macau, as in Hong Kong, there is no VAT, unlike in China, where it is 13%. As a result, prices are lower, with potentially attractive capital gains on resale.
For the record, the man was trying to smuggle the goods from Macau to Zhuai. The seizure took place at the Gong Bei border post.
