Kingdom Come Deliverance II, how does it run?

Kingdom Come Deliverance II is the sequel to the first opus, in which Henry’s adventures are taken up again in a realistic medieval era… You could almost say that this is a medieval simulation, such is the extent of the realism in certain aspects. In short, the game has just been released, and TechpowerUp is giving us a performance test on 35 graphics cards to see how the game runs.

Kingdom Come Deliverance II: An RTX 3060 for 1080p!

Kingdom Come Deliverance II VRAM

Broadly speaking, the game is still fairly memory-hungry, requiring 10GB of VRAM at full 1080p, compared with a minimum of 7.6GB. If you play in 1440p, the amount of memory required rises to 10.6 GB, still with maximum detail.

In terms of performance, as we can see, our colleague’s readings indicate that the game runs pretty well, with only the RTX 3050 failing to reach 60 fps in 1080p with full detail. To reach this limit, you’ll need at least an RTX 3060 or an RX 6600 XT from AMD. On the Intel side, for once, it’s not all doom and gloom, with the A770 boasting 70 FPS compared with nearly 80 for the B580.

At 1440p, things inevitably get tougher, as games become more demanding as the resolution increases. To reach the 60 FPS limit, you’ll need an RTX 4060 Ti from NVIDIA or an RX 6800 from AMD. Unfortunately, Intel cards fall below the 60 fps mark this time round, with the B580 averaging 56.5 FPS.

Review: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Quickly, in UHD, things get even tighter with the RX 7900 XT clocking in at 62.3 FPS, and the B580 at around 52 FPS. For its part, the RTX 3090 Ti is close to 60 fps with an average of 58.4 FPS… Fortunately, upscaling is present to support the framerate in this resolution. With a quality mode setting, an RX 6800 or RTX 4060 Ti is sufficient to achieve 60 fps. Note that KCDII does not support XeSS.
