Intel Alchemist 128 EU: 6 GB of memory on the desktop?
Coming again from youtuber Moore’s Law Is Dead, who had already shared renders and images with us, this one gives us new information about Intel’s upcoming entry-level GPU.
According to MLID’s sources, the Alchemist card using 128 EU (or 1024 shaders), could go up to frequencies between 2.2 and 2.5 GHz, thanks in particular to the 6 nm engraving from TSMC. On the memory side, we would now be on 6 GB of GDDR6 at 16 Gbps on a 96-bit bus for desktop and 14 Gbps with a 64-bit bus for laptop. Variants offering 4 or 3 GB of GDDR6 would not be excluded. Thus, the card would offer performance equivalent or even superior to a GTX 1650 Super, but with a contained TDP of 75W. Regarding availability, MLID talks about a limited launch on laptops for the first quarter at ASUS and DELL, then on desktops and at all other laptop manufacturers.
The information from MLID, would be in agreement with an alleged internal slide from Intel, shared a few months ago, showing a DG2 GPU (now Alchemist) named SOC 2, offering performances in the range of the GTX 1650 Super, with a TDP of 75W and in a price range below $200.
